Sergio Lopez Miro has one of the most diverse and deep resumes in the sport of swimming. As a swimmer himself, he earned a bronze medal in the 1988 Olympic Games in the 200-meter breaststroke. He has continued his swimming career as a coach, having many athletes on the Olympic level and swimmers that earned Olympic gold medals.

Prior to Sergio’s current position as the head men’s and women’s swim coach at Virginia Tech, he either headed up or served in a large capacity in the success of the Singapore National Team, Auburn University, West Virginia University, Northwestern University, and the prestigious bowls school, coaching such greats as Ryan Murphy, Joseph Schooling, Caleb Dressel and Santo Condorelli.
